This past Monday, ECPRC came to a meeting of the Public Safety Committee, whereat the proposed pay raise for Jail Superintendent Robert Koch was discussed. While some legislators were firmly in opposition, many others did not see the absurdity of paying more to perpetuate the kinds of human rights abuses that have led to a series of lawsuits and suicides. After ECPRC spoke on the issue, the topic was tabled for the day.

It may, however, be up for a vote as early as TODAY, Thursday March 4th, at 2 PM at County Hall, 92 Franklin St.  If you can, please come out and support our group, as we intend to speak out if this issue should come to a vote.
